In Capture, as part of a project at drama school, I created a stage/ lighting design concept for a concert featuring performances of the Italian singer Mina, snippets from Aladdin the musical, and Japanese singer Hiromi Iwasaki.

Each act required a completely different style. For, Mina’s song ‘Vivrò Senza Te’ who sings powerful ballads I tried to express complete anguish and despair through strong, achromatic beams of light.  On the other hand, for Hiromi’s Cinderella Honeymoon which recounts the story of an ephemeral romantic encounter I used fair lights and pinks and blues to create a bittersweet and melancholy fairytale-like atmosphere.
